Control Print (India) Ltd to offer Codeology’s ink jet printers across Asia

Control Print (India) Ltd, the 415 million Rupee turnover packaging and coding expert have signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Codeology, the UK-based manufacturer of large character ink jet carton coding and barcode labelling machinery.

Control Print, based in Mumbai and with offices throughout India and Asia, will initially sell Codeology i100 and i500 ink jet printers manufactured in the U.K., but within 12 months expect to manufacture them under licence in India.

Shiva Kabra, Marketing Director of Control Print, explained their decision to work with Codeology. ‘We needed a world-class, rugged, reliable and simple ink jet printer for our demanding customers. When we evaluated the markets, Codeology equipment met all of the criteria perfectly. We can also leverage Codeology's ability to design machinery and Control Print's to formulate fluids to jointly develop advanced Fast Dry Solvent based solutions for both the U.K. and Asian markets.'

Codeology was formed in 2005 by a small team of coding and labelling experts ‘left behind’ when a local company was taken over and relocated. Jim Mason, Managing Director, commented ‘We saw an opportunity when our previous employer was bought out. The new owners were not interested in continuing with some parts of the business, so we formed Codeology to fill the hole left in the market. Already we have U.K. household names such as Burton Biscuits and Kelloggs among our customers, as well as strong sales outside the U.K. to Ireland and Spain. We welcome this partnership with Control Print that brings our products to one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.’
